Australian Participant and Public Involvement (PPI) update

The Australian Participant and Public Involvement (PPI) group recently undertook a review of Australian recruitment materials (flyers and videos) in terms of accessibility and inclusivity. The group made some great suggestions to improve readability (such as use of bold colours, strong contrasts and inclusion of white space). They also suggested the inclusion of a QR code on printed flyers and posters for easy access to the website to find out more information about the study and to register an expression of interest.

Another key point raised by a member living with dementia, was that the recruitment materials need to invite people living with dementia too, not just caregivers. The group reviewed and provided feedback on a number of drafts of e-flyers, small printed flyers, and posters developed by the graphic design team at The University of Melbourne.

We are really pleased with the resulting materials that have been developed by and for people living with dementia and their carers. These material are now in use by the Australian team!
