This qualitative study aims to explore and gain insights into how shared home-based music is experienced by people living with dementia and their family caregivers (dyads) in their daily lives. This study takes place in the context of participants having completed a 12-week home-based music intervention (HOMESIDE). Dyads will participate in semi-structured interviews to share their experiences of shared home-based music (both during and after HOMESIDE) and their perceptions of its role and meaning in their daily lives. These interviews will be video-recorded, and visual and audio data will be analysed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Data from the dyads’ HOMESIDE diaries and post-intervention interview transcripts will also be included in the analysis.
